Tomorrow Night!

So tomorrow night I am going to a friend's 18th - cocktail themed! Which is great, except its the dead of winter.

Its only at her house, so I'm not too worried about having a fancy new dress and accessories. So my darling mummy is shortening the dress she made for my Year 11 formal! As much as she didn't want to cut it, at least it will get a second wear.

A pic of what I plan on wearing tomorrow night - minus jewellery and my head, as it wasn't looking the best.

The shoes are my fave! Bought last night from Target for $28 - and I didn't have to pay for the plastic bag! Steal!

I just noticed that in the pic above the dress isn't hemmed - don't worry, it'll get done!

I also bought some accessories today, from Diva (bracelet) and Equip (headband and ring). Will feature those later.

I'm kind of getting excited now!

A Few of My Favourite Things

Since coming out of surgery last Wednesday, there are a few little things that have come to be absolutely neccessary for me. Well, there's a lot, but three of note.

Chapstick. My lips have been getting so dry that by Saturday I had literally peeled off a whole layer of skin from my lips. So very, very important.

Ikea Cups. Well any cups in general would do, but I happen to own these exact cups. Despite what all of the doctors said, drinking through a straw is tough. And drinking through a water bottle, which I usually do, is well, disaster. So cups have become important.

My Mummy. I Love Her. Nuff said.

Ode to Cadbury

I just opened a sharepack Freddo that was rather fat. On closer inspection I noticed that it had two freddos in the one pack. OMFG!

my magic freddo

So Cadbury, even though you’ve made your family packs significantly smaller, and now use animal fat in your chocolate, you still manage to make me smile.

Oh, the small things.

Pyjama Party

Target began a storewide sale today. It was, in my opinion, rather pathetic. I don't usually expect much of these sales, but when a particular pyjama set comes in Sizes 6, 14 and 16 only, its pretty disappointing.
(I must add today that I was being particularly picky today regarding pyjamas, they definately needed to have a button up top, no negotiations. This was to fit over my soon-to-be fat face care of oral surgery)

Nothing took my fancy. So I bought these.

The print totally reminded me of Gwen Stefani, for some weird reason.

And I'm fairly sure that the bow sold it to me!
Love it! But they're hidden in my wardrobe til my hospital stay.

Let's Go Swimming!

Okay, so thats a sorry excuse for a title, but how exciting can I make swimming. Seriously.

After realising how horridly unfit I am, and as a helping hand to my oh-so-achy joints, I've decided to take up swimming. Well, trying to make the decision anyway.
Of course, I have to look the part! So I went to my local Rebel Sports today and had a look at their swimwear range, which was on sale!

I tried on this bright baby (by Speedo):

Until I realised that it gave me back fat that didn't exist in any other garment. Besides, my horrible proportions means that something that fits in my shoulders definately won't fit in my bust or hips, and vice versa.
So I'm thinking a tankini might be the way to go, even though they seem to ride annoyingly. (Although that might be just a reflection of my decrepit top)

Liking this one from afar (also by Speedo).

Planning on hunting something similar to this down next week, once exams are over.

Inconsistency

I feel a little guilty that I've only had the one post so far! Most people seem to be most enthusiastic not long after they create their blogs, correct?

Not me. I like to be a little different.

Or do I? Maybe my problem is that I spend too much time looking at other people's work, that I feel as though I can't write anything original, a little different, etc.

Or maybe I feel the pressure to be perfect.

Herein lies my problem - I am an inconsistent perfectionist.

Motivation.

I've always wondered why people continue to write their blogs. I know that I have a multitude of 'projects' (as I see them at the time) existing throughout the internet, whereabouts completely unknown. But what makes them continue?

Do they like having something to do?

Does it track a personal goal?

Is it representative of their industry?

Or, are they like me. See a trend and decide to jump on the bandwagon. For this, I give thanks to the Vogue girls. They are the influence behind my newest 'project', Beyond Her Time.
